This piece uses the symbolism of different flowers. Here are the meanings of the flowers I used in my piece.
- Cyclamen: Resignation
- Gladiolus: Remembrance
- Yellow Jasmine: Grace and Elegance
- Magnolia: Love for nature
- Yellow Carnation: Dissapointment; Rejection
The wind brushes past my tresses. Whispering secrets wrapped in the faint scent of moonlight into my black hair. I hide them as I push the last curl behind my ear. A small cyclamen rests there.
The fine gossamer fabric of my dress dances in the wind. The bittersweet remembrance of yesterday, like a vivid evocation of stillness, imprints itself upon my naked heart. A gladiolus drops from the sky.
I hear a soft melody from a nearby soiree. My movements mould themselves with the crescendo and segue into the next. The sky showers yellow jasmines.
As I step into the garden for a moment’s respite, my skin tingles. I look up at the night sky and a few drops touch my weary eyes. Caressing my cheek, kissing my neck, they slide down my bare shoulder before uniting with the ground. The air smells of magnolias.
I cross a bridge, like the rays of sun which wake up from the East and sleep into the lap of the West. I trip over a brown paper package. The wind pulls my hair back, as I bend down to open it. Flowers.
I disappear into the yellow carnations.

This is brilliant poetry. I like it how you have specified the symbols. It makes understanding the poem so much easier.
It is truly a wonderful wonderful poem. I love how it crescendos into a rather melancholy end, something so true about these times.
Lovely imagery. The poem itself flows so effortlessly.
Truly a pleasure to have read this.
