Change (Six Word Story #4)

This is in response to the Saturday Six Word Story Prompt (6WSP) #85 – August 7, 2021, by Shweta at My Random Ramblings. The prompt for this week is “Change”.

Time feeds on transience, doesn’t it?

Time is constantly changing. Everything around us is constantly changing. There is no promise of permanence, and the pandemic has definitely taught this to us.

Nothing ever remains the same. If we talk about nature, seasons switch, and unfortunately, right now, we are battling climate change. Talking about humans, I think they are the best examples of “change”. People’s views, opinions, personality change with time. No person lives forever either.

Sometime or the other, we all crave for everything to remain the way it is. I personally think that this would require us to get hold of a time stop! As long as time exists, every single thing will remain temporary. Perhaps, that is the only “permanent” thing in this world. That everything is temporary. This is such a contradictory statement and another pair to add to the list of paradoxes. I wrote a piece on it. You can read it here and share your thoughts.

Change is a necessary evil. Without it, nothing can function.

Also, a side note: I am not very sure if using transience instead of change was correct here. The meanings aren’t the same but in this line, I thought it would fit. So Shweta, please let me now if it’s fine or not.

Stay safe. Love and hugs to all! ❤🤗

                1. That’s an interesting thought. It depends on the person too I guess. And the circumstance. I do agree with the sentiment though. If we are already hurt, it couldn’t hurt us more to fight the change. But the sad fact is, that nothing would be the same as before. Probably there would be a new change!

                  1. It does depend a great deal on the person and the circumstance.
It’s like we accept certain small changes to stop big things for changing, the things that are of more importance to us.

  1. Indeed, nothing remains the same! Our choices change, we change, the world changes. Right now everything has changed. The best think to do is to go with the flow.
    Thought provoking post, Ishita. ❤️
